Stress is actually a Normal Healthy Human Response to a Threat.
It is an essential part of the human experience. Originally, the first humans experienced this nervous system response because they were living in the wild. In the presence of a saber tooth tiger the fear made people flee, to save their lives.
Unlike the past, today, the stress response we experience is triggered by tiny moments strung together throughout the day like our busy schedule, dealing with challenging relationships, managing finances, disciplining our children and the like.
These moments cause our tension to multiply. Eventually these micro moments of fear add up to responding in fight or
flight mode.
